love unconditional | 1

Once again, she gave a man her whole heart. And the pain of his departure was no less than in times past. The only difference this time was she made a choice. She didn’t FALL in love, she deliberately and openly chose to love him with all the love God had given her. Without attachment to the outcome and without illusions of what she may gain in return, she loved him. So her pain, she realized, was only a shadow from the past. It was her ego trying its best to take her into a low place where blame and disappointment could cloud her mind and the pain could turn her love to hate. She saw this for what it was, and with the grace God gave her, she turned away from these emotions, feeling them all the while, and she chose to continue to love in letting go.

Update - Healthy Lifestyle and Parasite Cleansing

It has been just over one year since I started my journey to better health. It helps that I have a great job at Super Supplements and get paid to learn about health and wellness - and what my body needs.

While it's not been easy to be totally consistent with all the goals I have made for myself, I can say that I feel better than I ever have. That said, I'm still working on achieving optimal health.

A few weeks ago one of the girls at work said we need to do a parasite cleanse. That was one topic I had never really done much research on, but I had a chiropractor tell me years ago that I had parasites.
Evidently, everyone does.

For some reason I was intrigued by this idea when I had flatly dismissed it before. So I began to do some research on the topic and found some extremely interesting information.

First, I looked up the effects parasites can have on the body. Even a relatively healthy person like myself is effected by the presense of parasites. They rob the body of nutrients from the food we eat and upset the pH balance of the body as well. But as I continued to research, I found out this is just the tip of the iceberg!

I turned to one of my favorite websites, earthclinic.com, to read up on the anecdotal information and remedies shared there. Many of the remedies were the same herbal remedies found in the products we sell at Super Sup and some I already have in my supplement cabinet - namely:
Black Walnut Extract
Sweet Wormwood Extract
Clove extract or fresh ground cloves
Apple Cider vinegar
Cayenne
Coconut Oil
Colloidal Silver
Diatomaceous earth

Apparently, regimens using therapeutic doses of these products have worked well for some people. Many of the stories I read reported the user getting ill before getting better as a result of the die-off of the parasites and the toxins being released into the system before being flushed out of the body.

As I continued reading I came across a post about Dr. Hulda Clark and something called a zapper. The post included a link to a manuscript written by Dr. Clark so I read it...and I was extremely intrigued. The book is called The Cure for All Diseases and it was available for free.

Basically in the book, Dr. Clark asserts that all diseases are caused by two things - PARASITES and POLLUTION.

She includes worms, fungus, bacteria and viruses within the category of parasites and pollutants that are found in our cosmetics, household supplies and environments as a whole.

The book is easy to read and understand and specifies various kinds of parasites as responsible for various conditions in the body. Furthermore, it describes the vibrational frequencies of organisms and how low voltage electrical currents can disrupt low frequency organisms like parasites to the point where they die.

Of course all of this is highly controversial and not endorsed by main stream medicine or the government. In the end, Dr. Clark - although a clearly brilliant woman, has been characterized as a quack. However, it seems that people are using this technology with success and it has been continually explored by other people, as I found in my research.

The next thing I did was try to find out where to get one of these zapper devices, though the book provides a diagram of how to make this device. Googling "parasite zapper" led me to Don and Carol Crofts website - a little deeper down the rabbit hole. They make a zapper called the Terminator. Impressive name, right? A lot more research on them, on their website and on Youtube made me decide to try this along with the herbal parasite cleanse I picked up at work.

My next post: Adventures in parasite cleansing with the Terminator

Natural Skin Care - Coconut Oil

Coconut art 06Image via Wikipedia
Coconut oil, wonderful coconut oil!

As we know, our skin Is our biggest organ. Anything that goes on the skin will make it’s way into the body. A simple way to enhance ones health when environmental toxins are everywhere and unavoidable is to choose skin and hair care products that are free of chemical additives and preservatives. Coconut oil is a wonderful option that is not only good for the body, but can even lighten the load on your wallet since it can be used for multiple purposes!

I use coconut oil as an all over body lotion, hair treatment and for those occasional bouts of dry, itchy scalp. It disappears on the skin, absorbing well and does not leave a greasy feel, especially when used immediately after bathing. Coconut oil has many wonderful properties aside from being a great moisturizer.
  • Antioxidant - coconut oil aids in repairing damage caused by free-radicals
  • Anti-aging properties - may prevent wrinkles
  • Blemish reduction - it may prevent and/or diminish the appearance of age spots
  • Anti-microbial properties - it may aid and speed healing of infected skin.

And of course, because it is being absorbed into the body through the skin, there may be other benefits to overall health as well. Coconut oil is proven to help control many health problems. Google it for yourself...;-) or visit http://www.coconutresearchcenter.org/index.htm
Try to get extra virgin coconut oil because it has been minimally refined and will contain the highest amounts of beneficial naturally occurring agents. For extra special self-pampering, stir a few drops of essential oil into a softened cup of coconut oil, like lemongrass or jasmine, to uplift your spirits and smell great.

Pseudo depression, Clarity and Inspiration

Failing to plan is planning to fail. That's the saying. Right? I spent the last 12 months learning how to plan an internet marketing campaign. It was a rigorous masters degree program taught by some of the industry's finest. And it was not cheap. And now several weeks past graduation I find myself in a state of partial depression, lacking direction and feeling passionless. Our emotions are always a signal to be paid attention to. A feeling of uneasiness and lackluster is a sign to me that I need to address an issue in my subconsciousness.
I'm a "hit the ground running" kind of person. Always feeling like time will run out if I don't take action fast. But if I have learned anything from my "higher education" it is that in order to move forward with passion and conviction the path must be clear. Clarity comes from thinking and planning first.
I realized that even with all my knowledge I have not taken the time to get clear on where I go from here. My failure to move forward, to use all my strengths, is really a failure to sit down be still and think about what inspires me. It comes from that fear that if I'm not actively doing something I'm failing. Fear is such an irrational emotion. That is not to say that one shouldn't exercise caution in a given situation.  But the state of my life over the last year has taught me that it is a good thing to take life more slowly and deliberately.
I used to think I didn't have time for fitness and a healthy diet. Running my business consumed me. And in reality it ran me, not the other way around. I decided to step out on my faith and deep sense that my priorities were all wrong. And now I have time to be fit and eat right. I'm more educated than ever about what my body needs nutritionally and I feel better physically than I have in years. So it is with the same deep sense and faith that I am moving forward. Not aimlessly struggling to make money and feeling depressed when my efforts remain fruitless. But instead taking  clear and calculated steps, including daily meditation - thinking about my inspirations and being inspired to action.
Another thing I came to realize is that doing less is not directly proportional to having less. In fact it can be quite the opposite. I work a lot less now than I did running Just Hair. A LOT. But I don't have less. I actually have more. More time to spend with my child. More freedom and flexibility in my schedule. I was able to earn a masters degree in 12 months. And by God's grace I pay my bills even though I don't always know exactly where the money is going to come from.

My path forward:
Take time to THINK, meditate, pray, get centered - slow down!
Ask for inspiration and take inspired action
Remember my top priorities - being spiritually connected, being physically fit and healthy by caring for my body with the supply God has provided, caring for  my child and putting his emotional, physical and spiritual health on par with mine.

Some sources of inspiration for me:
Tim Ferris and the Four Hour Body - shows me that small changes can have huge impact
Wayne Dyer and The Power of Intention - have been inspired by his writings for years, but sometimes I forget and have to come back.
Tea and the art of Life Management - this video helped me to see and remember that there's a way to find balance and I'm not alone in seeking it.

Update: Healthy Lifestyle

Wow! It's hard to believe it has been six months since I started this journey towards a healthier lifestyle. I guess I must be doing some things right because I really feel good! There have been some ups and downs - I'm not going to say it has been easy to stay focused and on track. But overall, looking back and reading over my posts, I am much improved!

I had 9 points in my previous post that I was going to try to achieve.

1. Cleanse.
I used Jarrow Fiber perfect for two months. Ok, this may be a little TMI...but lets just say I now have wonderful poo. Here's a great blog on healthy poo if you want more info. Here's what Dr. Oz had to say about poo on Oprah.
I now try to eat high fiber foods regularly and supplement from time to time. I found that other supplements like omega 3 and enzymes seemed to help as well.

2. Cut Sugar.
This was hard. I went on the HCG diet in January. On this very strict diet I lost weight very fast. But I didn't feel great and when I stopped the diet after 3 weeks, I did gain some pounds and inches back. Throughout the month of March and April, I pretty much went back to my high carb (normal) way of eating. By the end of April I was feeling so bloated and uncomfortable that I knew I had to start over with better eating. I tried to cut back on how much food I was eating and was going to the gym regularly, but found myself hungry and miserable by the end of the day and just eating all night long until bedtime.
I did some research on the Ideal Protein diet and from what I read (and already knew) I decided to try a high protein, low carb, very low sugar eating plan once again. This time I was determined not to starve myself, but to monitor my intake of carbs and sugar, similar to The Belly Fat Cure diet.

On my plan I'm having:
two or three protein shakes made with Betty Lou's Low Glycemic Protein powder
a scoop of Green Vibrance
added cal-mag powder
a spoonful of Omega Swirl
a spoonful of MCT oil
1 oz of Power 4 juice and/ or 1 oz of Nutra Rev

A healthy dinner with lean meat and lots of veggies some cooked and some raw.

For snacks I have a handful of pork rinds or nuts

I have been doing this for one full week with remarkable results.
Not hungry. So I'm not thinking about food.
More energy. I've gotten up at 6 am to go to the gym every day this week and overall just feel energetic. I normally stay on the cardio machine until I have burned 400 calories. At first this took me 50 minutes, now it's under 35.
Lost weight and inches. I weighed myself on Tuesday at 216. Saturday I was 212. My pants are much looser  too.

3. Use coconut oil and MCT oil
I cook exclusively in coconut oil. I use MCT oil in my shake. I also use coconut oil on my hair and skin. I do it because of the studied health benefits, which are numerous.

4. Eat low glycemic fruits and veggies.
This was a little tough. Let's just say old habits die hard. I'm getting better with it and am eating more fresh veggies, and cooking with fresh seasonal veggies. Last night we had grass fed beef steaks, coleslaw and steamed asparagus for dinner.

5. Drink 110 oz. of water every day.
This has become easier. I keep a 52 oz. cup handy and re-fill it several times a day.

6. H.O.P.E formula
By Brenda Watson of Renew Life
Yes, I do it. Every day. and I tell everyone who comes to me with any kind of health issue to do it as well. This simple formula has the potential to transform health.
H = high fiber 35g/day
O= Omega fatty acids (they are called ESSENTIAL fatty acids for a reason)
P= Probiotics
E= enzymes, and they are responsible for EVERY chemical process in the body, not just digestion.

7. Plan meals
I'm still not really planning my meals. But the protein shakes don't really take too much thought. I only have dinner to plan for.  And since I'm not as hungry, I'm not looking for snacks throughout the day.

8. Exercize
As I already mentioned,
I have been going to the gym every morning.  So far this is working. I added in a 20 min weight training routine and did the Body Pump class yesterday. I think the fact that I feel so much better is what is keeping me motivated to go. The workouts also seem to give me more energy. I have tried a couple of pre-workout supplements as well. They seem to give me more endurance during the workout.

my supplement cabinet
9.  Take good supplements.
Already mentioned some, but here's my complete list (oh boy)
Alive Women's once daily multi-vitamin
Maitake SX Fraction
Yeast Freeze
Super Enzymes +
Betty Lou's Low Glycemic Protein Powder
Calcium & Magnesuim
DDS Plus probiotic
Saccharomyces Boulardi
L-carnitine
7-keto
Omega 3 (Barlean's omega swirl, Carlson's very finest fish oil, Udo's Flax oil)
Maca magic
Nutra Rev
Power 4 (Noni, Mangosteen, Acai, Goji)
PGX daily fiber

And there are some that I don't use daily
B complex
evening primrose oil
fem dophilus
sovereign silver
Barleans Olive leaf

And some that I have and don't take right now...but thats a list for another post.

So when I started I weighed 224. I actually gained weight through the holidays and was up to 227 by the first of the year. Today I am at 212 and have a goal to be at 190 lbs for the first time in like 15 years. I won't stress or pressure myself, but I think if I keep feeling as good as I do, this won't be a difficult task.
